WE all have that one track that never fails to get us up and on the dance floor… the song that gets us busting out the dad dancing straight away.

Weddings are the perfect time to show off those moves, with oldies by the Jackson 5 and Queen apparently the most likely to get toes tapping.

Online local service company Bidvine.com surveyed its 1,400 DJs to find out the top 10 most popular wedding songs.

The Jackson 5’s mega hit I Want You Back came out on top with 35% of the vote, with Don’t Stop Me Now from Queen in second (20%) and Mr. Brightside by The Killers third (18%).

The remaining top 10 wedding floor-fillers are songs stretching across the 70s, 80s, 90s and the noughties including  The Fratellis’ Chelsea Dagger, Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough by Michael Jackson and Everybody Get Up from Five.

With Junkie XL, Elvis Presley’s Little Less Conversation, Pharrell Williams’ Happy, Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and Let’s Dance from David Bowie rounding out the top 10.

When reflecting on the variety of the list, co-founder of Bidvine.com Russ Morgan said: “It appears to be a real worry for brides and grooms on what type of music to play at their wedding.

“After all, most weddings have a variety of guests, ranging from older grandparents to young kids, so it’s hard to pick music that will appeal to everyone.

“From what our DJs have said, a good mix of music artists from different decades is key, along with family friendly, well-known songs to get people up and moving.”

The 1,400 DJs were also asked to reveal their worst wedding songs[/caption]

Bidvine also asked its wedding DJs to disclose the worst song request they’ve received.

Responses included Kanye West’s Gold Digger ft Jamie Foxx, Another One bites The Dust by Queen, Killing In The Name Of from Rage Against the Machine and The Righteous Brothers’ You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling.

Russ laughed: “The worst requests really made us chuckle, some at first you think shouldn’t be deemed bad, but then when you think of the lyrics you realise why they’re inappropriate.”

This isn’t the only wedding news to sweep the web in recent months.

A newly-married couple surprised guests at their wedding with their very different first dance.
